Easy King Cake!

Mardi Gras Tradition!

February 15, 2012

Ingredients:

1 can (16 oz) of biscuits-I use Grands!

1/4 cup melted butter

1/4 cup sugar

1 T cinnamon

1 can Cream Cheese Frosting

Colored Sugar or Sprinkles in green, purple, and yellow

1 tiny plastic baby

Preheat oven to 325 degrees F.

Open biscuits and lay them out flat in a rectangle pattern. Put a sheet of plastic wrap or wax paper over them, and then roll with a rolling pin into a giant rectangle.

Brush the dough with the melted butter.

Mix sugar and cinnamon together, then sprinkle evenly over the dough.

Roll the dough into a log and pinch with a little water to seal. Form the log into a circle, and again, pinch with water to seal.

Transfer to baking sheet, and bake for about 35 minutes. Let cool slightly.

(Some people put the plastic baby in the dough before wrapping. I'm not fond of baking plastic in my cake. So I push it through the dough after it been baked and cooled just slightly)

Spoon icing over the top and let it drip down the sides. Sprinkly with colored sugar or sprinkles.

Enjoy! Don't forget-the one who gets the piece with the baby is KING for the day!
