After residing in our home for nearly three years, and with the arrival of our third child, I enlisted help to establish better organizational systems and maximize space in various rooms. Like many, we repurposed the formal dining room to use as a playroom. We have rearranged the space multiple times, tried monthly toy/book rotations, and switched storage solutions several times - but never found “the right fit”.
Recently, my husband built floor-to-ceiling shelves for the playroom - prompting me to reach out to Clockwork Collective Home Organizing LLC. Before filling up all the cabinets, I wanted to have a clear plan to help it stay better organized. During our initial meeting, I pointed out the areas in our house that required the most attention. Ashley shared different ideas and recommended effective organizing products. On the designated day, we began with the playroom, sorting and decluttering as we went, then categorizing similar items together. Once we had a clear picture of our inventory, items were placed in labeled bins. Ashley is very attentive and considerate towards her clients - being aware that my children are still young, she arrived fully equipped with a variety of visual labels. After completing the playroom, we moved on to other sections of my home. By the time Ashley left, we had addressed the cabinets our master bathroom and the kids' bathroom, as well as the shelves in our laundry room.

Some people may be apprehensive to invite a stranger into their home - possibly due to embarrassment over clutter or the attachment they may have to their items. But a professional organizer can also provide emotional support during the often overwhelming process of letting go of excess belongings. Not once did I feel rushed to make a decision or pressured by her to discard something. She was also super sweet and understanding if I needed to take a break to tend to something else. For my home projects, I opted to work along side her, but she also offers virtual sessions and can tackle a project within your home on her own if you'd rather not be part of the process. As an added perk, she also brought all the various bins, lids and labels so we could see what sizes worked best for each items. Additionally, anything you decide to get rid of, she'll take with her and donate so that you still don't have those things taking up space. We also already have plans for her to return in the fall once I can purge some of the things from our unfinished storage area!
