After the hectic back-to-school rush, I shifted my focus to something that brings me immense joy—party planning. With Willow's third birthday quickly approaching, I wanted to choose a theme that encompassed all her favorite things. I sought inspiration from Pinterest and then turned to Canva to design the perfect invitation. The party theme I landed on: "Little Miss Three-nager!"

Following my recent trip to Cancun on a Macaroni KID press trip, I dedicated my efforts to fine-tuning all the additional details and coordinating with party vendors. Since the celebration was to be held at our home, we enlisted the help of Clean Heart Maids and All-American Carpet Cleaning to ensure our space was in pristine condition.
Next, I contacted bxbbly … and let me tell you, the results were stunning! This duo initially started their business with a focus on bachelorette party planning and packages in Kansas City, but they have since expanded and are a one-stop shop for all types of gatherings. I sent Sam the invitation, she asked a few clarifying questions, and requested some photos of our home. Then, she provided me with a mockup of her ideas based on the pictures I had sent, which really helped visualize her concept for the setup. On the day of the party, my kids loved being “little helpers” while Sam and Hayley got everything set up!
Morning parties are a personal favorite of mine! They allow us to enjoy time with family and friends without consuming the entire day. We can stick to our schedule for meals, naps, and even bedtime. For this celebration, we chose fruit and yogurt parfaits, cinnamon rolls, muffins, and donuts for the little ones, while providing a mimosa bar and charcuterie boards for the adults. I am incredibly grateful for Wildflower Charcuterie and Olivia's Custom Confections for keeping our guests well-fed!
Willow selected a cupcake from a nearby shop, that we added candles to so she could blow them out after we sang "Happy Birthday". For the rest of our guests, we ordered all-natural, dye-free cookies from Crumb and Take It. Samantha has a huge heart and a portion of her proceeds go to the Brave Like McKenna Foundation.
For entertainment, I knew KC Bubble Parties would be a fantastic choice. Dan “The Bubble Man” can come to your home to put on an unforgettable bubble show for the kids! We decided on a 30-minute backyard session, where he created giant bubbles, bubble snow, foam, and even enclosed the kids in a bubble! Willow was a little apprehensive at first, but by the end of the party she had warmed up to it!
