The Independence Chamber of Commerce and the City of Independence are thrilled to announce the return of the 76th Annual Halloween Parade, the longest-running Halloween parade in the Kansas City area! Presented by the Harry S. Truman Library and Museum, this year’s spooktacular event is set for Saturday, October 26th, 2024, with the festivities kicking off at 10 a.m. on the Historic Independence Square.
This family-friendly parade promises to be a thrilling experience for everyone, with a lively mix of school marching bands, community groups, dance studios, fire trucks, tractors, classic cars, and creative costumes. It’s a morning full of fun, magic, and a celebration of community spirit.

We are also excited to introduce Yvonne Hall, Chair of the Independence Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors and Executive Vice President of Blue Ridge Bank and Trust, as this year’s Grand Marshal. The parade will follow the same route as in previous years, starting on Walnut Avenue near Pleasant Street and winding through the heart of Independence, showcasing the charm and history of the Square. But the fun doesn’t stop once the parade ends! Stick around to explore the Independence Square, where local merchants will be offering special “Halloween Parade” deals all day long, creating the perfect opportunity to continue the festivities and support local businesses.
