Description

Annie Jr., presented by the Penguin Project with Blue Springs City Theatre, brings the heartwarming story of Little Orphan Annie to life with a unique and inspiring twist. In this special production, every role is performed by a talented young cast of artists with disabilities, supported on stage by dedicated peer mentors who guide and encourage them throughout the performance. Set during the Great Depression, Annie Jr. follows the journey of a spirited orphan named Annie as she finds friendship, family, and hope in unexpected places.

Join us for an unforgettable evening of theater that celebrates resilience, empowerment, and the joy of performance. More Info

The Penguin Project is a nationally recognized theater program for children with disabilities.  Penguin Project shows are entirely cast with these children, plus they are paired with a neurotypical, age-matched peer mentor. The mentor helps support the Penguin artist in learning their lines, blocking, choreography, etc., and most importantly - they build relationships and develop friendships.  You can find out more about the Penguin Project in general at penguinproject.org
